Perry Jewell was born in Atlanta GA and grew up about 75 miles northwest of the city. After graduating from the University of Georgia (BA Economics) Perry then moved to Jackson, Wyoming to explore the western United States and the its culture. After spending almost 6 years in Western United States and traveling abroad to countries like Fiji, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada and others, Perry moved back to Atlanta to be close to family.

Perry was married in 1995 to Courtney Mooney, also from Atlanta. They are active members of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church where they serve on Finance, Servant Leaders, and Children Ministries committees. Perry and Courtney have two sons, William, born in 1998 and Patrick, born in 2001. Both of their children are active in the local hockey program of which Perry is fortunate enough to have the time to coach both boys.

When Perry happens to stumble on some free time, he makes an effort to fit in a round of golf.  Other favorite activities inclue water and snow skiing.
